Common Conditions Treated

Personalised Treatment Options

Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, taking into account their specific condition, anatomy, and symptoms. Dr Ananda may recommend:

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

A minimally invasive technique to open sinus passages and improve drainage. Often used for chronic sinusitis or polyp removal.

Septoplasty & Turbinate Reduction

Surgery to straighten the nasal septum and reduce the size of swollen turbinates, improving airflow and reducing congestion.

Functional Rhinoplasty

Performed to correct both structural and functional nasal issues. In some cases, this may also improve the cosmetic appearance of the nose.

Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery

Used to remove tumours at the base of the skull through the nasal passages without external incisions. Performed with collaboration from neurosurgery.

Medical Therapies

Medical management may include corticosteroid sprays, antihistamines, decongestants, nasal irrigation, and immunotherapy, depending on the condition.

Common Questions About Nose and Sinus Care

Nasal obstruction is often caused by a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, nasal polyps, or chronic inflammation due to allergies or sinusitis. An ENT assessment helps identify the exact cause and guide treatment.

If your symptoms (congestion, facial pressure, postnasal drip) last more than 12 weeks, or recur often, you may have chronic sinusitis. Unlike a cold, sinusitis can involve long-term mucosal swelling or blockages needing medical or surgical treatment.

Yes. Nasal steroid sprays or short courses of oral corticosteroids can shrink smaller polyps and manage symptoms. However, surgery may be recommended if the polyps are large, recurrent, or affect breathing and smell.

FESS is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that opens blocked sinus pathways to restore normal drainage and airflow. It’s often used to treat chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, or other sinus-related conditions when medication isn’t effective.

Septoplasty is generally well tolerated. Most patients experience mild discomfort, nasal congestion, and pressure for a few days. Recovery usually takes 1–2 weeks, with most returning to normal activities shortly after.
