Turbinectomy Procedure

Here is Dr Ananda performing a live Turbinectomy Procedure.

The turbinates role is to warm and humidify air that is breathed through the nose. They become enlarged in conditions such as hay fever causing blockage.

Soft tissue of enlarged turbinates causing nasal obstruction are reduced using a deb-rider or coblation. Bone is also removed.

Haemostatic gel is placed (mesh like to reduce bleeding) on the wound. Once soft tissue and bone are removed there is a remarkable increase in the nasal air flow as the turbinates are no longer blocking the nose.
